Hi guys,

The reason for this is that you might have a spyware/trojan/virus in your computer that messed up with your ym.

After you fixed the error, please make sure your system is clean and you have an internet security installed (e.g., kaspersky internet security, norton internet security, etc)

Hi,

It's up to you. you might want to have save a copy first before you delete that folder you mentioned.

About the permission problem, you only need to obtain ownership of the folders having permission problem. Consult the "Help & Support" by clicking START-> HELP AND SUPPORT or simply press F1 on your desktop in Windows XP. You will find detailed information on how to take ownership.

OOps, me again:))),,,,,i cant access some folders its showing “You dont currenly have persmission to access this folder”…

Sorry man, sorry for replying late, that worked and its now running like a charm, thank uuu very much, what i did is

1)i logged in as adminisrator
2)I then creaed a new user
3)Then log off administrator and logged in with that new user so that the new user folder will appear in c:\User
4)Again i logged in as administrator
5)Then changed my old user name with an extension .bak and copied .bak to the new user that i created
5)Then i logged in with that new user
6)it's all working perfect

now my concern is, shall i delete that .bak user folder?

sorry for my ignorance, i am not used with these User and Administrator things, anyway keep up the gud work, god bless u.

About your problem, you should be logged in to another administrator account and try the solution in the article. You can't simply rename the profile folder while currently logged on to it.

Or try this,

1. Backup all documents and files that are important to you from that account having an error
2. Create a new user
3. Restore the data you save in (1) in your new user account.
4. If it works, now is the time you consider a internet security software (kaspersky, norton, etc).

Ya, sounds like a nice solution. but i am using Vista and as u know vista doesnt have Documents and Settings but instead a User folder in C drive, should i need to rename it? and the problem is i cant rename it too since it doesnt has rename option while i right click, plzz help me i am a regular Yahoo Messenger user, i am thinking of changing OS coz of this error
